About Falcon Heights Zoning

Our zoning code, like the rest of our city code, is undergoing review, revision and recodification. Until this process is finished, we will not post our city code on the web. Information on the current code is available at City Hall during business hours.

Falcon Heights is fully developed. Most of the land belongs to the University of Minnesota or to the Minnesota State Fair. As far as we know, these entities have no plans to sell or develop any of their land. There is no undeveloped privately owned land.

The minimum lot size for a single family residence is 10,000 square feet. For information on other zones, please contact the zoning coordinator, 651-792-7613.

Useful Links

  • Online Mapping Service of the Ramsey County GIS User Group. This is a FREE public access website that lets you print out a map of your property and look up all kinds of property information, such as the size of your lot and the amount you paid in property taxes last year. It is a great way to get a quick drawing of your lot to use for your site plan. (You will need pop-ups enabled to get all the features of this site.)
  • State of Minnesota Building Codes and Standards. Look under RESIDENTIAL in the menu on the lower left. They no longer seem to have all of the printable brochures they used to have, but you can find plenty of information.
