It is naturally occuring in the earth and enters buildings by seeping in through the basement. Radon exposure is known to be associated with lung cancer. Please read the update below! Does Falcon Heights provide any radon services?No, we do not. We do not license radon mitigation contractors, and neither does the State of Minnesota. We do not keep a list of recommended contractors. Please use the same precautions you would use when hiring any kind of contractor to work on your home. The Minnesota Department of Health web page (above) has some good tips on finding a contractor. How can I test my home and how much does it cost?You can purchase a test kit for as little as $5.00 from this North Carolina company. They are offering kits at a discount to Minnesota residents by arrangement with WCCO-TV. You can also buy more expensive tests that cost up to about $30. Update!Radon test kits are available for $9.00 through the Saint Paul-Ramsey County Department of Public Health Department, Environmental Health Section.
