How to get to Falcon Heights

From Downtown St. Paul and East Metro

Take I-94 West. Exit at Snelling Avenue and go north. Go past the State Fairground to the next major crossing, Larpenteur Avenue.

The Larpenteur/Snelling intersection is the commercial center of Falcon Heights. Go east or west on Larpenteur to reach the city's residential neighborhoods.

To reach City Hall, turn left (west) on Larpenteur. City Hall is about .8 mile west of Snelling on your right.

From Downtown Minneapolis and West Metro

Go east on I-94 to Highway 280. Take 280 north, exit at Larpenteur and go east.

When you reach the University Golf Course (less than .5 mile), you have arrived in Falcon Heights. Continue on Larpenteur to City Hall, just past Cleveland Avenue on your left.

Driving farther east on Larpenteur, you will come to the North Entrance of the Minnesota State Fair, then the Larpenteur/Snelling commercial district.

Alternately, instead of taking 280, keep going east on 94 and exit at Snelling Avenue. Turn left (north) on Snelling and follow the above directions for travel from St. Paul.

From the North

Take I-35W south. In Roseville, take the Cleveland Avenue exit (left lane) and just go straight when the freeway ends. Proceed south about 1 mile to Larpenteur Avenue. The St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota is in front of you. Historic Gibbs Farm Museum is on your right.

Turn left on Larpenteur to get to City Hall (driveway on the north side of Larpenteur about .1 mile east of Cleveland) and the city's residential and commercial areas (1 mile east). The North Entrance to the State Fair is about .7 mile east of Cleveland.

From the Northeast Metro (Maplewood, White Bear Lake, etc.)

Take Highway 36, westbound through Roseville. Exit to Snelling south. Drive south on Snelling just over half a mile to Roselawn, the north boundary of Falcon Heights. Continue another half mile south on Snelling to Larpenteur Avenue and the main commercial district of Falcon Heights. To get to City Hall, go west (right) on Larpenteur.

Alternate route to City Hall, Gibbs Farm and the University of Minnesota: Instead of taking the Snelling Avenue exit from Highway 36, continue on 36 to the Cleveland Avenue south exit. After merging onto Cleveland, go straight south to Larpenteur. See the directions “From the North” above.
